Guide to using assembly robots in packaging

DENSO Robotics has announced publication of a new free guide for manufacturers, packaging engineers, machine builders and system integrators, “Packaging Automation Trends: Using Small Assembly Robots in Upstream Packaging Processes.”

“With today’s increased global competition, manufacturers are under great pressure to cut costs wherever they can, and inevitably this means increased automation,” said Peter Cavallo, robotics sales manager, DENSO Sales California. “For packaging operations, fixed automation has been the traditional choice, but many manufacturers are finding that today’s robots provide a more flexible, lower-cost alternative.”

The new eight page guide responds to this trend by examining the advantages of using small assembly robots in upstream packaging processes. These are processes that take place before final cartoning and palletising, which usually require larger robots. The guide is available as a free download from the DENSO Robotics Web site.
