SENATOR Kim Carr, Federal Minister for Innovation, Industry, Science and Research, says the Western Australian manufacturing sector will receive world class business services from the new Enterprise Connect Manufacturing Centre launched yesterday, on 25 March.
As reported on Robotics & Automation, Senator Carr was on hand to officially open the Western Australian Manufacturing Centre in Welshpool, Perth.
According to Senator Carr, the Manufacturing Centre will provide assistance to businesses in the state’s sector, which employs around 103,000 workers and contributes $11.29b to the economy annually.
Senator Carr says expert business advisors will soon be heading out to workplaces to conduct free, onsite business reviews for eligible companies. Many companies often lack both the time and resources to look at improving day-to-day business processes.
According to the Minister for Innovation, the centre will allow these companies to improve their activities and procedures to allow them to focus on developing innovative products and technologies.
The detailed advice from the business review process is backed up by funding of up to $20,000 to identify any improvements.
Senator Carr says the Manufacturing Centre is already providing services to over 100 clients.
