MACHINERY Automation and Robotics (MAR) has supplied a total automation solution for the high-speed production lines of one of Australia’s leading agribusinesses.

MAR says the client processes and markets more than 1.5 million tons of paddy rice annually.

In order to become more efficient, productive and competitive, the agribusiness commissioned a fully automated, purpose-built packaging plant.

According to MAR, the packaging plant has six production lines that convey multiple products along the high-speed packing machines to two palletisers. The plant handles up to 38 products of bag sizes ranging from 500g to ten kilograms, all with varying production times.

MAR says it completed the line control automation of the 34 motors that power the production lines and palletisers, ensuring the range of products can be efficiently stored and conveyed to the palletisers at high speed.

The client says it has achieved a 20% reduction in the cost of processing product in the two years since adopting the automation technology.
