Rockwell maps out process portfolio

ROCKWELL Automation has outlined its ‘roadmap’ for process automation which includes a new name for a unified end-to-end suite.

The PlantPAx systems and solutions portfolio merges the company’s core capabilities and technologies with those of its partners, such as Endress+Hauser, and its acquisitions, such as Incuity and Pavilion Technologies.

According to the manufacturer, a key part of the portfolio is its process automation system. The system will continue to be expanded by combining the Logix platform and the FactoryTalk suite.

The company says the solution is expected to strengthen its system engineering environment and offer process and batch control users a new library of reusable control objects with tools to simplify its deployment.

It is also likely to hold advantages for control and visualisation platforms, performance and process optimisation, batch and sequencing, process safety and critical control as well as asset management.
