AN AUTOMOTIVE supplier recently turned to Serapid for a special custom-design system, to allow them to change part production with virtually no downtime.
The Serapid tool transfer table uses a LinearBeam mechanical linear actuator to move two tooling fixtures. The table provides a 7th axis for the robot cell, and uses an encoder to monitor positions.
The robotics company chose Serapid's LinearBeam because it is easily integrated into the existing machine structure and can be electrically operated.
The LinearBeam features stroke lengths from one meter to nearly unlimited lengths, and transfer speeds of up to two meters per second.
