According to Beckhoff Automation, the TwinCAT Kinematic Transformation software merges PLC, motion control, HMI and robotics onto one hardware and software platform, dispensing with the need for additional robot CPUs.
Beckhoff Automation claims the TwinCAT Kinematic Transformation software can reduce engineering costs and can eliminate the need for complex communication between CPUs.
Robotic and motion control functions can be synchronised using TwinCAT point-to-point axis positioning (NC PTP) or axis interpolation in three dimensions (NC I).
Beckhoff Automation says the TwinCAT Kinematic Transformation software is suitable for use in the materials handling and packaging industries.
