HONEYWELL has developed a method that allows smaller manufacturing sites to benefit from distributed control systems.
The company says its Experion LS system can manage all continuous process control applications as well as batch and sequence-oriented applications. It can be scaled to work from a single PC or from multiple stations.
According to the developer, the program is suited to smaller plants because it requires less engineering to configure and is easier to maintain.
The system features the company’s S88-compliant solution for fully-redundant batch automation. It has drag-and-drop configuration, pre-built algorithms, a global database, pre-configured displays and out-of-the-box batch functionality.
This makes it possible to make changes without stopping production.
