NATIONAL Instruments has released LabVIEW Robotics 2009, a new version of its graphical system design software for robotics control systems.
The LabVIEW Robotics 2009 software includes an extensive robotics library with connectivity to standard robotic sensors and actuators, foundational algorithms for intelligent operations and perception, and motion functions for robots and autonomous vehicles.
According to National Instruments, LabVIEW Robotics 2009 allows engineers to implement ideas faster, with seamless deployment to real-time embedded and field-programmable gate array (FPGA) hardware.
LabVIEW Robotics 2009 is said to be an industrial-grade, hardened, and richly supported development platform on which to build autonomous mobile robots which can interact with the world around them.
It has an open design, and can import code from other languages including C/C++, .m files and VHDL, and communicate with a variety of sensors using built-in drivers for technologies like LIDAR, IR, sonar and GPS.
