CAMPLEX claims the latest version of Delcam’s computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) software will be released in September.
The ninth version of the PowerMILL program is expected to debut at the IMTS exhibition in Chicago. It reportedly has the capability to manage more complex machining operations and has more controls for machinists.
The developer says there is a growing trend towards programming all machining tasks through the CAM system. Traditionally, operators programmed the simpler tasks directly onto the machine control. The new version takes this into account.
The program maintains detailed records of the whole manufacturing process, allowing for repeatability and consistency. According to the company, it also makes for a more reliable simulation of the complete process.
Camplex is the Australian distributor of PowerMILL.
