DENSO Robotics has developed offline programming software which allows an inoperative robot to be programmed with a computer.
The WINCAPS III software has a three dimensional simulation feature which can display an automation workcell in a virtual environment.
CAD drawings can be imported in standard VRML and DirectX formats and variables can be easily input or changed.
The company says operators can use the software to verify reach, determine obstacle clearances, detect collisions, troubleshoot and debug programs.
The program also allows workcell operations to be remotely monitored through real-time status indicators and control logs.
