KUKA Robotics is currently showcasing its robotic machining solution at the 2008 International Manufacturing Technology Show (IMTS) in Chicago.
The solution includes a pairing of the KR 100 HA robot with the CAMROB Software. The combination is suitable for use in high precision applications such as milling, trimming, de-burring, gauging and laser processing.
The company says the software uses computer numerical control (CNC) data to automatically generate robotic machining programs for applications in the woodworking, metalworking and plastics sectors.
According to the manufacturer, the robot has a standard six-axis motion range although this can be expanded with the addition of turntables and linear units.
