ADEPT Technology has presented its latest thin cell handling and inspection robot at the 2008 Intersolar fairs in Germany and North America.
The Quattro s650 is designed to be used in the production of solar power cells. The company says the robot is designed to address a sector-wide shift towards thinner cells.
According to the manufacturer, the unit has been selected by Solar Line Saxony to be distributed as a standard product amongst their range of automated solar cell production equipment.
The developer claims the robot’s unique four-arm Parallel kinematic design offers major advantages over the traditional three-arm Delta-style kinematic.
Intersolar is said to be the world’s largest solar trade fair.
